Mt Ololokwe

Mount Ololokwe (Ol Doinyo Sabache) rises like a flat-topped sentinel above the Samburu plains. It is deeply sacred to the Samburu people, who believe their cattle descended from the mountain at the beginning of time. This short but steep climb is one of the most rewarding in northern Kenya: a 2,779 m summit with a broad, grassy top, views over the Namunyak Conservancy, and a sunrise that turns the desert gold. Overnight camp on the summit, guided by Samburu warriors.
