Loita Hills

The Loita Hills are the traditional homeland of the Maasai, and the forest the Maasai call Naimina Enkiyio (the Forest of the Lost Child) remains one of Kenya's last unprotected old-growth forests. Walks here are led by Loita Maasai guides, crossing rolling forested hills, open grassland and sacred sites. You walk at a gentle pace, learning the forest's medicines, birdlife and stories, and sleeping in community-run camps. This is walking as cultural exchange as much as adventure.
