Ol Pejeta is East Africa's largest black rhino sanctuary and Kenya's only place to see both black and white rhinos in the wild. It sits on the equator below Mount Kenya, a sweep of open grassland and acacia woodland where lions, elephants, buffalo and leopards also roam. This two-day safari combines the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a sanctuary for orphaned chimps, with night game drives and close rhino encounters that few parks can match. It is a short drive from Nanyuki and Nanyuki airstrip, making it perfect for a long weekend.

Drive north from Nairobi through the central highlands to the conservancy gate, arriving by midday. After lunch at the camp, head out on an afternoon game drive in search of the resident black and white rhino, lions and elephants. Return as the sun sets over the Laikipia Plateau.
